About The Position

To complete bench upholstery, sewing machine and upholstery cutting operations using a wide variety of upholstery materials and tools.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification
• 6+ months experience in upholstery, bench upholstery, and/or mechanical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision to fabricate, cover and assemble flat and curved panels. Sew simple covers and curtains using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.
• Work with fabric, vinyl and leather hides, composites and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools and various power tools.
• Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows, cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads and coverings.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools/equipment and basic measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and write to interpret basic drawings. Ability to work from detailed instructions and minor decision making.
• Performs other related duties.
