About The Position

As an ​Upfit Technician I​, you will perform a variety of high-level activities related to truck body and trailers. Activities include but are not limited to ​knowledge of truck body and van electrical and hydraulic issues, disassemble and reassemble all sections of the truck body, body mounts, upfitting, as well as diagnose and repair as needed​.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.​
• Advanced mechanical and 12v electrical skills with welding experience
• Truck body or equipment manufacturing repair and ability to troubleshoot / problem solve with minimal supervision.
• Capability to work off scaffolding up ten to twelve feet.
• Must have a current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Wabash WPO guidelines, attain all required certifications, work safely, and use proper PPE.
• ​Work in a team environment. 
• ​Do repairs and procedures in a safe and timely manner. 
• Operate Pneumatic and battery powered cordless tools.
• Read basic drawings and prints.
• Ability to operate lifting devices (forklift/ stacker)
• Apply adhesives and mechanical fasteners, operate sanders and apply light duty paint material, operate saws and drill press equipment.
• Ability to record part numbers on work orders.
• Basic understanding of 12v or automotive electrical system.
• ​Before beginning an assignment, read the work order completely, check the VIN on the vehicle to ensure you have the correct components and vehicle for the assigned job.   
• ​Perform other duties assigned by management. â€‹
