About the Role: The Upfit and Repair Tech performs in-house quality control and repair work on AV equipment such as on-premise players, decks and receivers and assists in monitoring repairs required for distribution centers. The successful candidate will be able to quickly review and evaluate returned equipment for usability (parts) and/or reparability and be able to update the Company’s equipment database. A basic knowledge of sound and video equipment, electronic components and related repair equipment is required. Electronic repair experience is desirable. General knowledge in the safe and proper use of hand and small power tools is required. Work is performed in an internal, open space which is climate controlled. A combination of workbench and open space workspaces will be utilized dependent on product being worked on.

Responsibilities

  • Physically inspect incoming equipment and compare to written warranty information for in and out-of-warranty repair status and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Manufacturer Help desks for warranty testing and validation.
  • Physically examine and assess in-coming equipment for reparability, usable parts and/or scrap material.
  • Perform timely and reliable repairs of damaged equipment using small hand held and electronic repair tools including soldering and de-soldering equipment.
  • Physically test equipment to insure repairs are complete and devices performs as designed
  • Re package and labeling of repaired devices
  • Perform data entry to update database
  • Perform quality control checks s needed.
  • Communicates with internal and external clients verbally and electronically as needed to insure repair needs, concerns and roadblocks can be addressed expediently.
