About The Position

In this role, you will provide project field engineering expertise specializing in electrical systems, including work planning and packaging, material and equipment management, installation verification, testing and inspection, and coordination with subcontractors. You will apply your knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and drawings to ensure all field engineering activities are executed safely, meet quality and design requirements, and support successful system energization. Your contributions will help ensure electrical construction activities are completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with UPF's mission.

Requirements

  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects.
  • Good working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, ASME, as well as NQA-1 requirements.
  • Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
  • Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
