About The Position

The ED Registered Nurse (RN) at AdventHealth Central Texas provides direct patient-centered care in a critical care environment. This role involves assessing patient needs, prioritizing care through appropriate triage, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal treatment and support for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics. The ED RN is responsible for monitoring patient conditions, refining care plans, and supervising team members while delivering emotional, physical, and spiritual support to patients and their families.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or degree program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or Compact State.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in emergency nursing or critical care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient-centered care in the Emergency Department.
• Assess and prioritize patient needs upon arrival using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) tool.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and social needs continuously.
• Document and report all procedures and assessments in accordance with hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to potential emergency or life-threatening situations.
• Supervise assigned team members and provide support to patients and their families.
