DEPARTMENT: Packing JOB TITLE: 1st Shift Unracker REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor with directions from a Team Leader SHIFT MID-DAY/HOURS: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m 40+ hours per week over the course of 5 days, with occasional mandatory Saturday for OT. What You Will Be Responsible For: General Duties and Responsibilities: To remove aluminum extrusions, pack and inspect via work instructions, Supervisor instructions, and Lead personnel instruction. Medium to heavy physical demands, frequent lifting, carrying parts, stooping, kneeling, balancing, reaching, walking and pushing loaded carts. Operate small hand tools and power tools. Verify all parts being racked, unracked, and packed meet Bonnell quality standards. Visually inspect parts for surface defects (dents, scratches, color variations etc). Complete production, quality, and equipment checks (document when required) Know, understand, and demonstrate company policies, procedures, and guidelines Remove packed bundles/ racks/ containers/ etc. from packing area that need put onto cantilevers Put up or take down material from cantilever racks (raw and/or finished) Stock and/or pull material on cantilever racks (responsible/ accountable for accuracy within the stock program) Complete production, quality, and equipment checks (document when required) Monitor and maintain scrap rack levels Know, understand, and demonstrate company policies, procedures, and guidelines Perform other duties assigned by supervisor. Work Environment / Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning. What You Will Need: HS Diploma/GED Must also pass a skills-based test. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented. Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
