The Northtown Library utilizes volunteers to fulfill its mission of connecting the community to ideas, information, and inspiration. Volunteers assist with tasks ranging from keeping materials neat and shelved to assisting patrons with technology and mentoring youth, offering a variety of options for gaining experience. This is an unpaid volunteer position. Interviews will be conducted as applications are received for those selected based on current library needs. Currently, the Northtown Library is looking to fill the volunteer position of Reading Bridge Mentors, open to volunteers ages 15 and older. All roles require a minimum commitment of 3 months with typical shifts of 1-2 hours per week. Adults interested in one-time events should contact the Friends of the Anoka County Library, an all-volunteer nonprofit group. Teens needing 5 hours or less for school requirements or one-time service events can sign up via the Service Programs Calendar.
