About The Position
WKRN is now accepting News internship applications for the Summer 2026 semester. Our news department is accepting both news producer and videographer interns. Our station unpaid news internship program allows for the most effective, impactful 8 weeks possible. We have written a loose curriculum that will teach you how to be the strongest producer or videographer possible while also allowing you to build your reel and resume. Internship Details: • Each internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week for 8 weeks • Interns will be supervised and participate in a meaningful learning experience • Upon completion of internship, the student will receive a written review by supervisor • Interns are responsible for their own transportation
Requirements
- All interns must be enrolled in college receiving course credit
- Skilled in Broadcast and AP style writing
- Flexible in performing a variety of assignments and tasks
- Be a collaborative worker with willingness to learn
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of camera equipment and non-linear editing a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist/shadow reporters, news, and digital producers
- Answer viewer calls
- Transcribe interviews
- Research stories for on-air and online
