About The Position

OWT Global is seeking a mission-driven and technically proficient Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) Field Service Representative (FSR) to support UTM operations and low-altitude airspace management at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), FL. The selected candidate will provide on-site technical expertise to ensure the effective operation, integration, and sustainment of UTM systems in support of safe, compliant, and efficient unmanned aircraft operations across the installation. The UTM FSR will be responsible for supporting the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UTM platforms and associated infrastructure, ensuring reliable system performance in both steady-state and dynamic operational environments. This role will directly support airspace coordination and situational awareness by enabling the management of cooperative UAS traffic and integration with external airspace data services, including flight authorization, Remote ID, and real-time airspace awareness tools. The candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, airspace managers, and UAS operators to facilitate compliant flight operations, deconfliction, and airspace utilization in accordance with applicable FAA and DoD guidance. The UTM FSR will also support the integration of UTM capabilities with installation systems and, where applicable, provide coordination with air domain awareness and C-UAS systems to enhance overall airspace visibility and decision-making. In addition to technical support, the UTM FSR will deliver user training, develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), and provide reach-back coordination with engineering teams to resolve issues, implement updates, and support continuous system improvement. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of UAS operations, airspace management, and networked systems, with the ability to operate effectively in a field environment supporting mission-critical capabilities. Experience with UTM platforms, FAA airspace frameworks (e.g., LAANC, Remote ID), and integration of distributed systems is highly desired.

Requirements

  • Experience with UAS and Counter-UAS systems
  • 3–7 years’ experience in flight test engineering, UAS testing, or aerospace system validation
  • Experience with telemetry systems and flight test instrumentation
  • Strong experience with data analysis, data correlation, and visualization tools
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Experience with technical documentation and test reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with UTM platforms, UAS Service Suppliers (USS), or digital airspace management systems
  • Familiarity with integration of UTM with air domain awareness and C-UAS systems
  • Knowledge of RF systems, sensors, or aviation surveillance technologies
  • Experience supporting DoD, USAF, or installation-level operations
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification
  • Experience with system documentation, configuration management, and version control processes
  • Exposure to MBSE or Digital Engineering environments
  • Knowledge of low-altitude airspace management concepts and UTM architectures
  • Ability to analyze system performance and diagnose technical issues in real time
  • Strong problem-solving skills in dynamic, mission-critical environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for coordination across diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, operational requirements, and mission needs
  • Attention to detail in system configuration, documentation, and operational execution

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain UTM systems and supporting infrastructure at MacDill AFB
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to ensure continuous operational availability
  • Support integration of UTM platforms with external airspace services (e.g., flight authorization systems, Remote ID, weather, and airspace data feeds)
  • Assist with real-time airspace coordination, including deconfliction of cooperative UAS operations and dynamic airspace management
  • Coordinate with government personnel, airspace managers, and UAS operators to ensure safe and compliant flight operations
  • Provide technical reach-back support and interface with engineering teams for issue resolution, system updates, and capability enhancements
  • Develop, maintain, and update system documentation, configuration baselines, and operational logs
  • Deliver user training and assist in the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Support integration and coordination with air domain awareness and C-UAS systems, as required
