The Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Program Specialist position at Sinclair Community College is a part-time role focused on supporting the National UAS Training and Certification Center. The specialist will assist in UAS flight operations, logistics, and recruitment for training programs, working closely with the UAS Program Manager. Responsibilities include operating UAS simulation capabilities, conducting market research, and participating in UAS operations as part of the flight crew.

  • Conduct market research and benchmarking efforts
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Program Manager for Operations, Unmanned Aerial Systems
  • Minimum of high school diploma required; academic certificates or associate's degree in related area of study preferred
  • UAS operational flight experience on a variety of small UAS is required, with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized training certifications preferred
  • Experience with UAS related modeling and simulation, mission planning, and data analytics software products required
  • Background working in STEM education programs preferred
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and individually with limited oversight required
  • Strong PC skills, including standard office tools and industry specific software packages
  • Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills, including experience in preparing and delivering reports and presentations required
  • Ability to read, research, and comprehend technical and regulatory documents preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a wide variety of technical and operations projects preferred
  • Holds and maintains a current Remote Pilot Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) preferred
  • Traditional flight experience with Private Pilot Certificate or advanced ratings preferred
  • Current or ability to obtain a FAA Second Class Medical preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship preferred
  • U.S. Passport preferred
  • Academic certificates or associate's degree in related area of study
