About The Position

The Unlicensed Nursing Assistant (UNA) plays a crucial role in providing patient care activities and support services under the supervision of licensed nurses. This per diem position involves assisting with various patient care tasks while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients. The UNA is responsible for recording patient data and communicating effectively with patients and their families, contributing to the overall care planning process.

Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience in a healthcare setting.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Unit specific competencies must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide designated patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Record patient graphics, intake and output, and activities of daily living (ADLs) accurately.
• Implement measures to promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Report relevant observations to assist in care planning.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing psychosocial needs.
• Utilize and maintain equipment safely and effectively, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
