About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Unix Shell Scripting & PL/SQL Developer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and optimizing automation scripts, managing complex database operations, and ensuring seamless integration across backend systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages, triggers).
  • Hands-on experience integrating shell scripts with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of batch processing workflows and automation practices.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in banking, payments, or financial services domains.
  • Techno-functional experience with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or Java for extended automation or system integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation, batch processing, and system integrations.
  • Design, implement, and enhance database components including PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver efficient, scalable technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing Unix scripts, database programs, and SQL queries.
  • Ensure smooth integration between Unix-based automation and database/backend systems.
  • Support production deployments, monitor scheduled jobs, and resolve production incidents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct performance tuning of scripts and database queries to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
