The School of Education (SOE) is a small, collaborative unit with 14 tenured and tenure-track faculty members spanning seven programs: bilingual education, special education, elementary education, secondary education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, and higher education counseling and student affairs. The SOE is noted for its strong relationships both with local schools and the local community as it embodies an all-university, "Learn by Doing" approach to the preparation of K-12 educators. Requirements

  • Applicants must be credentialed or have equivalent experience in educator preparation as well as be expert in the content area of the teacher candidate being supervised.
  • For the Educational Leadership and Administration Program, clinical practice supervisor applicant's minimum requirements are a MA in Educational Leadership or closely related field, possession of or eligibility for the CA Administrative Services credential, and five (5) years of experience as a K-12 school administrator.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Education or a related discipline.
  • For the Educational Leadership and Administration Program, a doctoral degree is preferred.
