About The Position

The University Registrar plays a crucial role in the academic administration of the university, overseeing all activities related to the Registrar's office. This includes the maintenance of student records, certification processes, graduation management, and classroom scheduling. The Registrar is responsible for managing the registration and advising modules of the Jenzabar ERP solution, ensuring that all systems are functioning effectively to support the academic needs of the institution. In collaboration with faculty, deans, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Registrar develops the academic calendar, which is essential for the planning and execution of the university's academic programs. The position requires supervision of the coordination, evaluation, and certification of all graduation applications, as well as maintaining the academic advising requirements across all disciplines within the Jenzabar EX ERP solution. The Registrar also consults with other university officials to revise and implement registration schedules and procedures, ensuring that they meet the needs of students and faculty alike. Analyzing statistical data on registration is a key responsibility, as this information is vital for administrative use in formulating policies. The Registrar is tasked with exchanging student information with other colleges or universities and interpreting academic policies and procedures to both faculty and students. Additionally, the Registrar directs the compilation of information such as class schedules and graduation requirements for publication in school bulletins, catalogs, and the university portal system. Budget development and administration for the department are also part of the role, along with the collection, recording, maintenance, and reporting of student records in compliance with FERPA guidelines. The Registrar oversees the evaluation of transcripts for students applying for admission and acts as a liaison between the Admissions Office and department chairpersons or deans regarding course equivalencies. The position involves preparing academic review documents for university and academic status review bodies, documenting actions of committees in student records, and managing the production of the academic catalog. The Registrar also carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, which includes interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints.
