About The Position

The University Program Specialist provides strategic leadership, project management and coordination for the Public Service Leadership Program. The University Program Specialist assists the Assistant Dean for Workforce Development and program managers in supporting the development and implementation of the Public Service Leadership Program; to include: curriculum and content development, researching best practices in assessment and evaluation strategies; facilitating in-person and virtual training events, coordinating social work coalition campus engagements; supporting the development of marketing and communications materials; and developing participant tracking databases. The University Program Specialist will serve as liaison between PSLP staff, coalition leadership and faculty, PSLP students and participating practitioners, and other community stakeholders. With an in-depth understanding of higher education leadership and program administration, the University Program Specialist will support the development of tools, initiatives, systems, policies, and procedures. The University Program Specialist will be a thought partner with the Assistant Dean and other leaders to sharpen the work of the PSLP .

Requirements

  • Ability to manage workload both independently and collaboratively without immediate direct supervision.
  • Ability to think critically and use conflict resolution skills to solve complex logistical problems involving diverse populations (eg. schools, community-based nonprofits, university).
  • Approachable, calm style encourages open communication across stakeholders.
  • Certified by the National Council on Wellbeing to teach MHFA courses.
  • Experience using implementation science tools and strategies to support adaptation of innovations.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership, Social Work or a closely related field.
  • Ability to train others (eg. work-study students, interns) in data/information collection and use of tools (eg. Qualtrics, Microsoft Excel, WordPress).
  • Experience with data collection or reporting for grant writing or extramural funding.
  • Ability to perform statistical analyses using both qualitative and quantitative data sets.
  • Experience utilizing online learning management systems and platforms (eg. canvas, blackboard).
  • Experience using data to problem-solve and develop a continuous quality improvement process.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are crucial.
  • Ability to interact professionally and productively with a wide variety of students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
