About The Position
This position works 40 weeks per year (Aug-May) with a 12 week break in the summer but is paid and benefited year-round. While this position is non-exempt, it is paid a biweekly salary of $1,045.66 per pay period (equivalent to $27,187.16 per year). The typical schedule for this position during the 40 working weeks is Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm with some nights and weekends during productions. Creates design research and fully designed scenery for up to 5 productions per fiscal year. Paints scenery for assigned productions and maintains paint shop stock and organization. Assists with props procurement and creation. Productions may include theatrical plays, musicals, dance concerts and operas. Works closely with Technical Director and Stage Coordinator to ensure that designed scenery is completed on time and within budget.
