About The Position

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Enforce New York State and local laws and the Student Code of Conduct on campus.
• Patrol assigned areas to deter criminal activity and detect dangerous situations.
• Respond to calls for assistance from fellow officers or campus community members.
• Report to the scene of crimes or disturbances to maintain order and assist injured persons.
• Conduct initial investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses.
• Regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic and enforce vehicle laws.
• Control crowds at events and prevent gate crashing or overcrowding.
• Serve as Desk Officer, interpreting communications and dispatching officers as needed.
• Prepare shift summary reports and logs of activities.
• Deliver in-service training and community educational programs.
