Engineering Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining insight into the design, development, and execution of cutting-edge maritime solutions. The position involves various engineering disciplines including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Program Engineering. Interns will assist in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components, support mechanical design and analysis for ship systems, contribute to hull form design and stability calculations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project planning and execution. Additional responsibilities include performing basic engineering calculations, maintaining technical documentation, interfacing with suppliers, evaluating technical issues, and supporting field surveys.

  • Assist in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components.
  • Support mechanical design and analysis for ship systems, including propulsion and HVAC systems.
  • Contribute to hull form design, stability calculations, and weight assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Create, change, or maintain technical documentation in support of ship design products.
  • Actively contribute innovative approaches and ideas.
  • Interface with suppliers on engineering specification/documentation inquiries.
  • Evaluate and solve technical issues in product development.
  • Update and validate Purchase Specifications, per internal guidance.
  • Update Vendor-Furnished Information, per supervisor guidance.
  • Perform 2D CAD red-line mark-ups from supervisory engineers.
  • Support cost saving activities.
  • Generate reports, as required.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external customers on technical matters.
  • Participate in supporting field surveys and other field-related tasks, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Contribute to assigned projects and maintain appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product development process.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture with an accredited university.
  • Currently maintaining a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average (4.0 scale).
  • Successful completion of Second Semester of discipline-specific Engineering or Naval Architecture Curriculum.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD design software preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to work in a high paced team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a Production environment.
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills.
  • Systematic troubleshooting abilities/root cause analysis.
  • Strong sense of ownership.
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate technical and design issues to external and internal customers.
