About The Position

High Point University offers a stimulating lineup of unique events for students, faculty, staff, and community members, featuring a variety of art, music, and theatre performances, as well as special speakers who will visit campus. Ushers are needed for Community Enrichment Series events and will be trained on the job. Ushers will need to possess strong leadership skills, as they may have to be firm and persuasive to move guests to the proper seats. An outgoing personality is recommended.

Requirements

University Event ushers should be punctual, presentable, courteous, and able to get along with all types of people.

Nice To Haves

Must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
Strong Communication Skills
Punctual
Detail Oriented
Flexible hours, especially early evening hours.

Responsibilities

Assist with event setups.
Greeting and help with seating of guests.
Collect tickets and pass out programs.
Serve as a resource for all guests and be available to answer any questions about the event, event series, and the University.
Work during Fall Family Weekend, September 19th & 20th .
Work during Spring Family Weekend, February 6th & 7th.
