About the position

The Wanda L. Bass School of Music occasionally has openings for part-time temporary adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the areas of applied music and classroom teaching in music theory, music history, music education as well as other specialized music course work. Applying for a part-time adjunct teaching appointment allows faculty chairs from across the School to access candidate materials if/when a teaching need arises throughout the current or future academic year. Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction for assigned courses, including clear course objectives, prepared and relevant class activities, effective presentations of learning materials, fair grading practices, timely responses to students, and a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Evaluate student learning, skills, and abilities, ensuring appropriate documentation of coursework and grades.
  • Support the integrity of curricula, encouraging student success, and promoting the mission of the College and university.
  • Adhere to all policies within the Oklahoma City University Faculty Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Generally, a minimum of a master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
