Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• minimum of three years of detailed accounting experience
• Expertise with general ledger accounting, month‑end close activities, and account reconciliations is required, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• dependable, proactive, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• experience working in an ERP or accounting system, including Jenzabar
• Experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• managing the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, reviewing operating statements, and completing detailed account reconciliations
• investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and properly documented
• preparing cash projections
• assisting with treasury functions
• maintaining strong financial controls
• providing clear, reliable financial analysis that supports reporting, planning, and sound decision‑making across the institution.
