The Universal Worker/CNA position at Eventide Fargo Senior Living is a part-time, as-needed role focused on providing high-quality personal care assistance to senior living tenants. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including personal care, medication administration, housekeeping, and engaging in life enrichment activities, all while adhering to federal, state, and local standards and the organization's policies.

  • Assists tenants with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assists tenants with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
  • Observes and/or assists with medications that may have been ordinarily self-administered.
  • May give oral and trans-dermal medications, patches, eye drops, topical ointments, and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
  • Reads and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
  • Provides adequate nutrition and fluid intake through meal preparation.
  • Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
  • Provides tenants with emotional and cognitive support.
  • Socializes with tenants and participates in appropriate activities.
  • Gives guidance, redirection, and re-orientation to tenants as needed.
  • Develops a rapport with tenants and families to understand their needs and interests.
  • Documents in tenant records as instructed and in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and review of tenant's plan of care.
  • Recognizes and reports significant changes in the tenant's health, behavior, and/or general appearance to the nurse.
  • Complies with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes emergencies and carries out emergency procedures according to policy.
  • Reports any occurrences of physical or mental abuse or potential for vulnerable adult reports to supervisor.
  • Cleans apartments, service areas, and common areas.
  • Sorts, washes, dries, and folds personal clothing and linens.
  • Re-stocks supplies as needed.
  • Assists with serving meals in the dining room.
  • Performs pet care per policy.
  • Must have a current ND CNA license or be able to obtain upon hire.
  • Must have a current ND MA I license or be able to obtain upon hire.
  • Must be trained and pass Eventide's Home Health Aide (HHA) competency training and test administered by Eventide.
  • Must currently be in good standings on all nursing assistant registries in which you have been placed in the U.S.
  • Current CPR/BLS (or its approved equivalency) license required.
  • Experience with medication administration preferred, but will train the right candidate.
  • 15% PRN differential on all hours worked
  • Evening shift differential added to base wage
