Universal Worker/ CNA - Part Time - Day Shift 7am-3pm (MA Certified)
About The Position
Eventide Jamestown Senior Living is currently seeking a part-time Universal Worker/CNA. This is a day shift position (7 am-3 pm), Saturday & Sunday, 32 hours a pay period. $2 an hour evening/overnight shift differentials and part-time 7 percent premium pay available! Will also perform housekeeping, laundry, and planning and life enrichment activities as needed.
Requirements
- Must have a current ND CNA License
- Must have a current ND MA I license or be able to obtain upon hire
- Must be trained and pass Eventide’s Home Health Aide (HHA) competency training and test administered by Eventide
- Must currently be in good standing on all nursing assistant registries in which you have been placed in the U.S.
- Current CPR/BLS (or its approved equivalency) license required
Responsibilities
- Assists tenants with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assists tenants with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
- Observes and/or assists with medications that may have been ordinarily self-administered. May give oral and trans-dermal medications, patches, eye drops, topical ointments, and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
- Reads and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
- Provides adequate nutrition and fluid intake through meal preparation.
- Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
- Provides tenants with emotional and cognitive support. Socializes with tenants. Listens, converses, and participates in appropriate activities – reading mail, writing letters, etc. Gives guidance, redirection, and re-orientation to tenants as needed.
- Develop a rapport with tenants and families to develop an understanding of their needs and interests.
- Documents in tenant records as instructed and in a timely manner.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and review of the tenant’s plan of care.
- Recognizes and reports significant changes in the tenant’s health, behavior, and/or general appearance to the nurse.
- Complies with infection control policies and procedures.
- Recognizes emergencies and carries out emergency procedures according to policy. Promptly reports any occurrences of physical or mental abuse or potential for vulnerable adult reports to the supervisor.
- Review communication notes at the start of each shift to stay informed of changes that may have occurred.
- Cleans apartments, service areas, and common areas.
- Sorts, washes, dries, and folds personal clothing and linens. Re-stocks supplies as needed.
- Assists with serving meals in the dining room.
- Performs pet care per policy.
