Universal Worker/CNA - PRN (as needed)
About The Position
Eventide Sheyenne Crossings Senior Living is hiring for PRN Universal Workers at our Senior Living facility. PRN workers receive a 15 % differential. Evening and overnight shift differentials as well! Why Choose Eventide ? Will also perform housekeeping, laundry, and planning and life enrichment activities as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant on the ND Nurse Assistant Registry.
- Must have a current ND MAI Certification or able to obtain upon hire
- Must be trained and pass Eventide's Home Health Aide (HHA) competency training and test administered by Eventide
- Must currently be in good standings on all nursing assistant registries in which you have been placed in the U.S.
- Current CPR/BLS (or its approved equivalency) required.
Responsibilities
- Assists tenants with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assists tenants with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
- Observes and/or assists with medications that may have been ordinarily self-administered.
- May give oral and trans-dermal medications, patches, eye drops, topical ointments, and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
- Reads and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
- Provides adequate nutrition and fluid intake through meal preparation.
- Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
- Provides tenants with emotional and cognitive support.
- Socializes with tenants.
- Listens, converses, and participates in appropriate activities - reading mail, writing letters, etc.
- Gives guidance, redirection, and re-orientation to tenants as needed.
- Develops a rapport with tenants and families to develop an understanding of the needs and interests.
- Documents in tenant records as instructed and in a timely manner.
- Participates in the development, implementation and review of tenant's plan of care.
- Recognizes and reports significant changes in the tenant's health, behavior and/or general appearance to the nurse.
- Complies with infection control policies and procedures.
- Recognizes emergencies and carries out emergency procedures according to policy.
- Promptly reports any occurrences of physical or mental abuse or potential for vulnerable adult reports to supervisor.
- Reviews communication notes at the start of each shift to stay informed of changes that may have occurred.
- Cleans apartments, service areas, and common areas.
- Sorts, washes, dries, and folds personal clothing and linens.
- Re-stocks supplies as needed.
- Assists with serving meals in dining room.
- Performs pet care per policy.
