About The Position

The Universal Pest Control Technician is responsible for inspecting properties, identifying pest activity, and performing appropriate treatments to eliminate and prevent pests. This role requires expertise across general pest control, termites, and related services. The Universal Technician supports branch operations through a combination of route work, callbacks, and new account starts and serves as a key problem-solver for customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License may be required for certain roles.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with pesticide labels and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling in attics, and inspecting crawl spaces.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment required for pest control services, including electronic devices.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, damp, and dusty environments.
  • Successful completion of Nozzle Nolen orientation and training program.
  • Completion of state certification and licensing requirements, as applicable.
  • Completion of additional training as assigned by a supervisor or Human Resources.

  • Previous pest control or lawn care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect residential and commercial properties for pests, pest harborage, and entry points, including rodents, termites, ants, spiders, mosquitoes, bed bugs, wasps, snakes, and other pests.
  • Apply chemical and non-chemical treatments in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
  • Set traps, place baits, and remove deceased rodents or relocate trapped animals as required.
  • Educate customers on sanitation, storage, and preventative practices to support effective pest control.
  • Recommend additional services when appropriate based on inspection findings.
  • Document service details accurately in PestPac, including findings, treatments performed, and customer communications.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, sales, and quality control teams to resolve service issues and improve outcomes.
  • Perform route service, callbacks, and new account starts as assigned.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns and complaints.
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate schedule changes, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Ensure all safety, application, and re-entry procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service vehicle, including proper inventory of tools and materials.
  • Attend monthly training meetings and required company training sessions.
  • Use OSHA-mandated personal protective and respiratory equipment.
  • Assist coworkers as needed to support branch operations.
