About The Position
The Universal Service Representative I position at Wheelhouse Credit Union in Chula Vista is a pivotal role responsible for fostering and maintaining member relationships while promoting the Credit Union's products and services. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional service and support to members, ensuring that their banking needs are met efficiently and effectively. The representative will be tasked with opening new accounts, processing and funding consumer loans, and performing various teller and vault transactions. As a member advocate, the representative will handle account updates, fraud resolution, and error corrections, ensuring a seamless banking experience for all members. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Universal Service Representative I will be expected to stay informed about all relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP). This knowledge is crucial for maintaining compliance and ensuring that all transactions and member interactions adhere to regulatory standards. The role also involves providing sales support, maintaining a balanced cash drawer, and processing various financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. The representative will play a key role in promoting Credit Union products and services, interviewing loan applicants, and ensuring the accuracy of consumer loan applications. Quality control is also a significant aspect of this position, as the representative will participate in audits and maintain sales logs and reports. Meeting established goals for cross-selling memberships and consumer loans is essential, as is adhering to error ratios on funded loans and memberships. The representative may also provide support at other branch locations and assist with business development and marketing efforts within the community.
