About The Position

The internship position at Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) is designed to assist the Business Analytics and Industrial Engineering Department in various tasks aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing guest experiences. Interns will engage in time studies, data collection, and analysis to support decision-making processes related to ride capacity, sales, and labor utilization. This hybrid internship offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that combines entertainment with analytical skills.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an accredited Industrial Engineering program.
• Experience with data and statistical analysis, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills and motivation to succeed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a theme park or entertainment environment.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Business Analytics and Industrial Engineering Department in accomplishing tasks.
• Conduct time studies, data collection, and data analysis to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Compile observational data for time and motion studies.
• Support business decisions regarding ride capacity, food and merchandise sales, and labor utilization.
• Assist in data entry for various departments including Technical Services, Operations, and Entertainment.
• Perform traditional Industrial Engineering tasks as required.
• Prioritize effectively and problem-solve to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Engage in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities as per USH policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
