Requirements

  • Two or four-year college degree preferred or equivalent member/customer service experience in related field.
  • Ability to engage members in conversation confidently through strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to listen, educate and influence members regarding Credit Union products and services.
  • Skilled at building relationships.
  • Ability to complete work accurately and efficiently, paying close attention to detail.
  • Skilled at maintaining a high level of performance with a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to identify potential fraudulent and suspicious activity.
  • Skilled in time management, organizing work and focused on meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to embrace innovation and technology. Knowledge of multiple software programs and digital work.
  • Ability to support team goals with a positive attitude. Ability for flexibility to meet deadlines and share responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of basic math and counting skills.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union department operations to help troubleshoot, problem solve and resolve issues. Ability to offer solutions that best serve the member.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality or member information. Knowledge of security procedures and guidelines.
  • Requires sitting 6-8 hours a day; Stress related to important decisions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and occasional after hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Completes account transactions efficiently with a high level of accuracy ensuring the Credit Union maintains a good image.
  • Educates members on emerging bank/credit union technology and digital solutions such as mobile, online, and ATM to make their banking experience easier.
  • Processes and balances various types of monetary transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and cashing checks within guidelines.
  • Maintains security of cash drawer, negotiable instruments, and credit union documents to ensure confidentiality of members’ accounts to protect members. Maintains high level of accuracy and security. Meets balancing standards consistently.
  • Processes loan payments, mortgage payments, as well as issues gift/travel cards, and cashier’s check requests.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of products and services. Promotes, recommends, and refers products and services to meet the member’s needs.
  • Identifies and reports fraudulent activity.
  • Meets or exceeds established service goals. Scores consistently with Member Shop program.
  • Builds member relationships, committing to increased member satisfaction by setting achievable member expectations, assuming responsibility for solving members’ problems and assuring commitments to members are met.
  • Processes account opening and maintenance. Consistently receives minimal audit exceptions from the Membership Officer.
  • Answers questions on basic inquiries for Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
  • Completes special projects or other duties as assigned by the Senior Branch Officer or Branch Manager.
