About The Position
The Universal Banker (UB) at Apple Bank for Savings serves as a full-service, single point of contact for clients, ensuring prompt, courteous, and efficient service for both new and existing customers. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative and a Teller, allowing the incumbent to provide enhanced customer service and branch leadership. The Universal Banker is tasked with acquiring new clients, offering suitable bank products and services, and performing various branch-related functions, including processing account maintenance transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for opening new accounts, resolving customer issues, and educating clients about the bank's offerings. They may also refer clients to licensed representatives when appropriate, aiming to build long-term relationships based on trust and suitable solutions that meet client needs. In this role, the Universal Banker will engage clients in a friendly and professional manner, addressing service-related issues promptly and efficiently. They will conduct business ethically, clearly communicating the features and benefits of various banking products and services. The position requires recognizing opportunities to deepen banking relationships through discussions with customers and prospects, establishing, retaining, and enhancing relationships to achieve sales and referral goals while maintaining high-quality customer service. The Universal Banker will also handle all aspects of Teller operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, safeguarding cash and negotiable instruments, and maintaining an orderly customer area. Additionally, the Universal Banker will assist in the opening and closing of the vault, safe, and ATM, ensuring accurate record-keeping practices for new accounts and adhering to regulatory and compliance policies. They will also play a role in training and mentoring new staff, building their technical and professional knowledge through educational workshops, and performing additional duties as requested.
