About The Position

The Universal Banker supports daily branch operations by performing a wide range of banking transactions, consumer account openings, and customer service activities while building positive customer relationships. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Verify important information including endorsements, dates, and identification, to cash or deposit checks. Conduct various banking transactions, including cashing checks, accepting deposits, withdrawing funds, and issuing customer receipts. Prepare, verify, and issue cashier's checks. Balance cash drawer daily according to established procedures and report any teller cash differences immediately to the direct supervisor. Balance all vaults at the end of the day. Refer, solicit, and open new consumer accounts. Answer Branch phones and assist customers. Update customer and account information and complete all associated paperwork. Refer and solicit other banking products/services. Reach out to customers to establish and grow relationships. Attend and contribute to staff and Bank meetings. Demonstrate a helpful, friendly, and team-player attitude. Follow established security protocols including proper robbery/hold-up procedures. Maintain the teller area to ensure the safety of all negotiable instruments and confidential records. Travel to other locations as needed. Work varying schedules based on branch hours including the Saturday rotation. Universal Bankers designated as Float positions are expected to work at all locations within the market and will receive a pay differential. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Thorough understanding of customer service and Bank products/services. Ability to remain friendly and calm in stressful situations. Strong knowledge of fundamental mathematics. Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications High school diploma or recognized equivalent required. 1+ years of customer service experience required. Experience in retail sales preferred. Experience in a professional financial environment preferred. Cash handling and transactional experience preferred. Bi-lingual preferred. Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of customer service and Bank products/services.

  • 1+ years of customer service experience required.
