About The Position

The Universal Banker at Merrimack Valley Credit Union is responsible for performing the duties of both a Teller and a Financial Service Representative. This role involves processing a variety of transactions, assisting members with their banking needs, and maintaining knowledge of all products and services offered by the Credit Union. The position emphasizes customer service, effective communication, and adherence to banking policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years Customer Service experience preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication and organization skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with members and staff is essential.
  • Experience with personal computers in a Windows environment including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Flexibility of work hours and proven reliability/dependability required.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively and accurately.
  • Must possess a professional and positive attitude and image to all members at all times.
  • Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and maintain registration as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all products and services offered by the Credit Union.
  • Processes a wide variety of transactions for members including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, payroll adjustments, bank checks, gift cards, and cash advances.
  • Uses sound judgment and interpersonal skills to effectively assist members.
  • Balances cash drawer and makes settlement of the day's activities in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Participates in balancing ATM, under dual control, as necessary.
  • Adheres to all aspects of the Credit Union Bank Secrecy Act policy and procedures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic delivery channels to assist members with online banking, bill pay, and mobile applications.
  • Originates all loan types via direct member contact, telephone, and mail and fax applications.
  • Uses loan processing system and ensures all conditions for approval are met, obtaining required documentation and assisting with loan disbursements.
  • Performs all duties for ATM/Debit card issuance, including new, reissues, and maintenance on the system.
  • Handles opening and closing of all account types and performs account maintenance as needed.
  • Performs lobby leadership as scheduled by management.
  • Leads the See It, Own It, Solve It, Do It culture by analyzing and improving member service and staff experience.
