About The Position

The Universal Banker at the Ala Moana Branch of Bank of Hawaii plays a crucial role in creating and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Under the supervision of the Manager, this position is responsible for engaging clients with outstanding customer service while ensuring they are informed about digital and mobile banking alternatives that can facilitate their transactions efficiently. The Universal Banker introduces and sells financial services tailored to meet both short-term and long-term client needs, which are identified through profiling and a comprehensive understanding of the bank's products and services. This role involves processing various financial transactions, balancing cash, and assisting with vault, ATM cash recycler, and armored car duties. Additionally, the Universal Banker must ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and bank policies, including those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the USA PATRIOT Act. In terms of responsibilities, the Universal Banker manages the overall client experience at the branch. This includes proactively engaging with both existing and prospective clients to demonstrate the advancements in 21st-century banking technology, thereby creating interest and addressing any objections. The role requires active management of the branch lobby, greeting customers, checking in clients with appointments, and assisting walk-in customers to ensure they are directed to the appropriate banker. The Universal Banker is also responsible for maintaining and selling financial services by addressing clients' long-term and short-term goals through profiling, identifying customer needs, and maintaining extensive knowledge of the bank's products and services. This includes cross-selling, opening new accounts, and performing teleconsulting. The position also involves actively selling financial products and services, processing applications, and closing for all consumer credit products while providing a high level of service. The Universal Banker processes a wide range of financial transactions, including cashing checks, accepting deposits, and issuing cashier's checks. They are responsible for balancing their cash, opening and closing the vault, and performing duties related to ATM and armored car transactions. Training new employees on operational procedures and sales techniques is also a key aspect of this role. Furthermore, the Universal Banker identifies and secures new high-value consumer clients, manages calling efforts, referrals, and sales tracking to achieve personal and team sales goals, and maintains close contact with customers to promote the bank's products and services. Keeping informed of current bank policies, procedures, and federal regulations is essential for success in this position.
