About The Position

The Division of Physical Therapy, housed within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and the College of Health Professions at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), invites applications for a 12-month, open-rank faculty residential position. This position will have an emphasis on differential diagnosis, imaging, and musculoskeletal conditions. Candidates will join a productive team of senior and junior faculty within the Division, Department, and College and will be core faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, expected to teach an agreed-upon teaching load within their area of expertise or need of the Division. Candidates must have a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and a terminal doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent). Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the Division of Physical Therapy. Additional teaching opportunities may be available within the Doctoral Program in Health and Rehabilitation Science or the Post-professional PT Residency programs. The DPT program is a residential program using a multi-pronged educational approach that prepares evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate physical therapists to provide collaborative care that is patient/client-focused. We are seeking candidates who are at the forefront of driving physical therapy education forward through the implementation of innovative teaching models that empower student learning. Candidates with all backgrounds relevant to rehabilitation will be fully considered. Candidates with the ability to teach in a wide variety of topics are particularly encouraged to apply. State-of-the-art lecture and laboratory facilities are available for teaching both traditional lecture and laboratory-based classes. Physical Therapy faculty regularly collaborate with educators in other colleges at MUSC, notably including the College of Medicine and clinical departments. Requirements
