About The Position

The Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital After Hours Care is seeking general pediatricians to work on a temporary basis providing state of the art, family centered care to children under the age of 18 who present with acute illnesses or injuries. The physician will be a member of the Department of Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division. After Hours Care operates 365 days per year, from 3 to 11pm on weekdays and from 12 to 8pm on weekends and holidays. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate to pediatric practice and/or pediatric academic experience.

Requirements

• M.D. or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide state of the art, family centered care to children under the age of 18 with acute illnesses or injuries.
• Work as part of the Department of Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division.
• Participate in after hours care operations.
