The Unit Tech (UT) in the NICU is responsible for performing specific nursing care tasks delegated by and under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. This role also includes acting as a receptionist/secretary, ensuring the smooth and efficient performance of clerical activities on the assigned nursing unit during designated shifts. The position is available for full-time days and nights at the South Tower-ETCH Main Campus.

  • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous, friendly manner as measured by management observation and peer input.
  • Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Nursing Assistant and/or 6 months experience or training required.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • NAHUC Certification encouraged.
