About The Position

This position is a working team lead role responsible for planning, anticipating issues, and managing priorities within the work area, aligning with overall company goals. The lead will assist with scheduling and monitoring work tasks to maintain and improve production efficiency and ensure timely workflow. Key responsibilities include maintaining accountability for the area, providing supervisor coverage and support when needed (including attending meetings and supervising staff in a supervisor's absence), and handling day-to-day operations. The role acts as a point of contact for troubleshooting and employee concerns, identifying and reporting machine maintenance needs, addressing minor interpersonal conflicts, and escalating issues to management. The Unit Team Lead is also responsible for training employees on work processes, coaching and mentoring, and promoting and supporting safety compliance by proactively addressing potential safety concerns and reporting unsafe issues to management. Collaboration with all levels of employees and management is essential.

Requirements

3+ years in aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment
Technical expertise/experience aerospace manufacturing-machining disciplines
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities
Must be a self-starter who is able to exercise sound judgment and take initiative
High School Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

Plan, anticipate issues and identify and manage priorities for the work area, with an understanding of the overall goals of the area and the company.
Assist with scheduling and monitoring work tasks to maintain and improve production efficiency of each job and operation to ensure timely workflow.
Maintain a high degree of accountability and commitment for area of responsibility.
Provide supervisor coverage and support when needed, including attending meetings for supervision/business unit and supervising staff in supervisor absence.
Handle day to day operations and act as point of contact for troubleshooting and employee concerns.
Identify and report any machine maintenance repairs and address minor interpersonal conflicts.
Escalate and report issues to management as needed.
Train employees on work processes, coach or mentor others as needed.
Promote and support safety compliance.
Proactively address potential safety concerns and report any unsafe issues to management.
Collaborate and work effectively with all levels of employees and management
