About The Position

This is a multi-skilled position requiring patient care and clerical duties. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse (nurse), the Certified Nursing Aide - Unit Support Associate provides care appropriate to the patient population served and daily routine patient care needs. The CNA-USA performs their duties based on the unit care delivery model. This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care as outlined by the nurse. In addition, the CNA-USA performs a variety of duties and may serve as a health unit coordinator, monitor tech, perform secretarial or clerical duties for unit leadership, or serve in another specialized capacity as unit needs dictate. The CNA-USA adheres to a culture reflective of Centra's best practices for quality and service, creates and maintains a safe patient environment, and contributes to a healthy work environment. The CNA's practice reflects the laws and regulations for a Certified Nurse Aide as outlined by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Requirements

• Certification as a Nursing Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Ability to perform patient care duties as directed by a licensed nurse.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of patient care delivery models.
