The Euclid Hospital Emergency Department is looking to add a Unit Support Assistant to their dedicated team of caregivers. In this role, you will support daily unit operations by keeping the environment clean and safe, ensuring supplies are stocked, equipment is functioning properly, and assisting with patient transport and routine errands. Euclid Hospital’s Emergency Department features 16 private beds and a customized split-flow process that allows for expedited patient care and reduced wait times. Caregivers in Euclid Hospital’s ED provide care to all patient populations and work collaboratively to make each patient’s visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Euclid Hospital’s ED is focused on employee engagement, teamwork and caregiver collaboration. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m, M-F only. No weekends or holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and frequent patient lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching and squatting.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and clean equipment as requested by Registered Nurse.
  • Perform other transportation functions as required, including delivery of patient specimens, medical records, and patient care equipment.
  • Collaborate with members of the health care team to promote patient care delivery and overall unit functioning.
  • Prepare rooms for admissions and discharges by keeping them neat and uncluttered.
  • Organize and clean supply rooms and maintain established supply levels.
