Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
AHA Heart Saver AED or BLS certification.
Vaccination against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher and Patient bed.
Transports patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment.
Assists clinical staff with the transferring of patients to/from beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs safely.
Collects specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment and deliver items to appropriate destination.
Maintains equipment and report malfunctions immediately to the appropriate person.
Monitors surrounding environment for unsafe situations and equipment and reports issues to the appropriate person.
Prioritizes duties by demonstrating self-motivation, flexibility, and cooperation with changes in work volume, emergencies and staffing needs.
Works closely with the clinical staff to assure positive patient outcomes.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
Retrieves equipment, delivers and maintenances stretchers, wheelchairs, infusion pumps and precaution carts.
Delivers medications from the pharmacy as routinely scheduled.
Performs the duties of a storeroom clerk as needed: answering phones, delivering supplies, processing incoming stock and coverage for after business hours to include holidays.
