About the position
The Unit Staff position at AVENUES involves providing support in a shelter environment, primarily focusing on communication, record-keeping, and training related to domestic and sexual assault advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Answering all shelter calls and determining the type of call to direct it to the appropriate staff or community resource.
- Completing the Shift Cleaning Procedure and submitting it to the supervisor.
- Completing and maintaining client records as appropriate and/or assigned as a new employee.
- Completing 55 hours of domestic and sexual assault advocacy training.
- Obtaining no less than six hours of continuing education as assigned by the Director annually.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate and direct calls to appropriate resources.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining client records.
- Willingness to undergo training in domestic and sexual assault advocacy.
