Full time 40hrs/week every other weekend and holiday rotation as per hospital policy Job Summary Summary ED: The Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not to limited to EKG, phlebotomy, equipment cleaning, and stocking of rooms under the supervision of a licensed nurse. They perform a wide range of secretarial duties, including but not limited to organizing paperwork, answering the phone, paging, and receiving of Emergency Department patients into the medi-tech computer system. They will provide safe accurate transportation of patients throughout the hospital. They will perform 1:1 sitting when necessary. The Unit Service Technician of the Emergency Department will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. ICU: The ICU Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to ICU patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including but not limited to, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, supporting procedures within their scope, patient transport, securing equipment and supplies, and responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. They will also perform a wide range of secretarial duties and perform 1:1 sitting when necessary. The Unit Service Technician of the ICU will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. The Unit Services Tech provides direct and indirect care to patients to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. OPIC: The Ambulatory Unit Service Technician (UST) provides direct and indirect care to patients in the Outpatient Infusion Center to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse/Nursing Director the UST performs various clinical duties which facilitate each patient's readiness for surgery. The Ambulatory UST provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not limited to, EKG, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, supporting Ambulatory procedures within their scope, responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills, patient transport and securing equipment and supplies. The UST will provide safe accurate transportation of patients. The Unit Service Technician will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. Perioperative: The Perianesthesia Unit Service Technician (UST) provides direct and indirect care to perioperative patients to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse/Nursing Director the UST performs various clinical duties which facilitate each patient's readiness for surgery. The Perianesthesia UST provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not limited to, EKG, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, supporting Perianesthesia procedures within their scope, responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills, patient transport and securing equipment and supplies. They will provide safe and accurate transportation for patients. The Unit Service Technician will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. IV Therapy: The Unit Service Technician works as part of the IV Therapy team and provides direct and indirect care to patients to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Nursing Director or designee, the Unit Service Technician performs various administrative and direct/indirect patient care duties for each patient. The Unit Service Technician also assures the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. Sterile technique experience preferred.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Certified Nurse Aide [CNA] - State Specific Certification Board required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [EMT License] - Generic - HR Only required

Nice To Haves

  • ED: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred
  • ICU: 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred
  • OPIC, Perioperative, IV Therapy: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred
  • Sterile technique experience preferred.
