About The Position
Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives. POSITION SUMMARY: The Unit Secretary is responsible for the clerical functions on the unit, acts as a receptionist for the program and is under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Experience in hospital clerical preferred.
Responsibilities
- Acts as receptionist for unit/program, answers telephone, takes messages and delivers them.
- Completes the appropriate documentation for patient room changes.
- Inputs requests for Plant Operations and assures follow up.
- Maintains patient medical records.
- Files lab work, EEG and EKG results in the patient’s chart after the physician reviews and signs the record.
- Contacts the Admitting department when a patient arrives to be admitted.
- Break down discharge charts.
- Notifies physicians of consults.
