Acute Care Medicine Unit North Hospital, 1st and 2nd Floors • 31 private bed unit caring for general and progressive levels of care • Subspecialty of caring for adults with cystic fibrosis • AACN Gold Beacon Award recipient - consecutive winner Our Medicine Units: • Practice evidence-based care for patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses • Serve patients through the continuum of care • Provide 24-hour accessibility to hospitalists and teaching physician services • Offer access to multiple Watson rooms, a unique space for team members to practice mindfulness • Create a supportive and nurturing environment for experienced and new graduate nurses with an emphasis on work-life balance • Promote nursing autonomy, professional development and advancement • Deliver exceptional care through Interprofessional collaboration The Unit Secretary performs a variety of clerical tasks involved in preparing, maintaining and processing patient and unit activities, data and records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to perform daily activities with minimal supervision.
  • Self directed in the accomplishment of routine activities.
  • Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience setting up and maintaining office system (organizational skills)
  • Previous experience with medical insurance, MIS, and medical terminology
  • Previous experience in a health care setting
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Previous experience with use of EMR
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course
