About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Unit Secretary (PRN - Nights) Our ideal candidate will ensure that the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit functions efficiently by managing administrative tasks with precision and professionalism. This position necessitates a keen attention to detail, as the Unit Secretary will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, facilitating timely communication among the healthcare team, and providing comprehensive support to medical staff and patients. The incumbent will demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities and possess a strong understanding of the healthcare environment. Furthermore, the Unit Secretary will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, thus requiring excellent customer service skills and a compassionate demeanor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Health care experience preferred
  • Previous administrative or secretarial experience preferred
  • Computer/keyboard skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
  • Excellence customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with superiors, peers and customers
  • Ability to make sound judgments
