Unit Secretary - Labor & Delivery, PT, Nights
About The Position
This is a 13-bed unit with 4 overflow antepartum rooms, 2 OR suites, and a new 4-bed OB-ED. The unit has 24/7 coverage by a Hospitalist and a team of physicians. It serves laboring mothers or preterm mothers greater than 20 weeks, as well as postpartum mothers needing readmission. The unit aims to adhere to AWHONN standards and closely monitors staffing to patient census, maintaining ratios such as 1:2 for laboring patients, 1:1 for active labor or C-section, 1:3 for antepartum patients, and 1:4 for triage/OB-ED. The team provides patient-centered care, working together for the mother and baby.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- No experience required
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of related hospital experience
- Successful completion of Medical Terminology course
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and receptionist duties under the direction of the RN, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager or designee
- Provide quality customer service
