About The Position

The Unit Secretary position organizes and manages the department activities. You will oversee office supply inventory, room utilization, and audio/visual equipment utilization. You will provide clerical support for the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Risk Management & Safety. You will coordinate special projects as assigned. You will interact with physicians, hospital directors, other hospital executives, as well as employees, patients, and families. You will Assists in the completion of department assignments.

Requirements

  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with computers and medical terminology is required.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Spelling, grammar, verbal communication, and written composition skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of Unit Secretary or medical terminology course preferred
  • Unit Secretary experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service and secretarial experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of PC based computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and/or similar systems preferred.
  • General knowledge of legal procedures/practices.
