About The Position

Assists Emergency Department nurse in data entry of triaged patients vital information. This computer link to protocols assists Emergency Department staff communications and evaluation of care practices and patient outcome. Facilitates the smooth running of the nursing unit by performing a broad range of clerical duties: transcribes medical orders, maintains medical records, communicates effectively, and assists in providing a safe and efficient unit.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum education requirement high school graduate or equivalent; post high school vocational / specialized training is preferred.
• Experience: Required experience is 0-6 months; 6-12 months experience is preferred.
• Management Skills: Excellent human relations and oral / written communication skills.
• Administrative Skills: Computer Skills Communication Skills General Office Skills

Responsibilities

• Processes Emergency Department patients records accurately under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assembles and maintains patient medical records in an orderly manner.
• Communicates effectively and appropriately by using verbal and nonverbal interactions.
• Contributes to the effective operation of the nursing unit.
• Maintains a safe Unit Environment.
• Adheres to hospital and department policies.
• Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth.
