Summary of Job Purpose: Provides clerical, receptionist and communication services for the Unit. Population served based on scope of services in the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to multi task.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and process information between the health care team, the patient and family/SO.
  • Assists RNs to coordinate activities in the preparation of the patient record to ensure accuracy and completeness. Start assembly of charts the day prior to the surgery date.
  • Prioritizes, organizes, receives and collates pertinent data on the patient chart.
  • Generates patient computer labels and affixes to endo, pain management and minor procedures charts for the next day. Maintains packets.
  • Acknowledge patient arrivals, escort to bed area and notify the nurse.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform appropriate computer skills. Proficient with Stat Schedules and Cerner order entry and results review.
  • Maintain and Model REACH Values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor).
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
