About The Position

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Psychiatric Center – Delmar Campus is a behavior health inpatient program that is driven to provide a high level of quality care. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of the St. Louis Community and surrounding areas. The Delmar Campus has two 25 bed units that provide care to anyone requiring treatment in depression, anxiety and behavior health recovery. We have a multidisciplinary team that consist of behavior health nurses, psychiatrist, Medical physicians, social workers, activity staff, music therapist and pharmacy. The Unit Secretary performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team.

Requirements

• Need to have clear communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• High School Diploma or GED
• No Experience

Responsibilities

• Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support.
• Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail.
• Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures. Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
