This position provides a variety of routine and specialized clerical and administrative duties in support of a nursing care unit. The role involves executing various clerical tasks and prioritizing information and requests in a timely manner. The Unit Secretary is expected to gain confidence and cooperation from staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers, and must adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. Responsibilities may also include orienting new staff to the department/unit.
